The clutch is characterized by a radial arrangement of segments in a compact design. This facilitates installation and removal without the need to relocate the drive units. The Stromag AFL-Periflex® VN clutch is designed for higher cardan shaft deflection angles up to 10°.
 
A flanged bearing is a bell that is mounted directly on the diesel engine housing. An axially mountable, plug-in, highly flexible Stromag Periflex® VN Disc Coupling arranged inside the bell transmits the torque from the flywheel to the cardan shaft.
