This cluster of clutches, except for shaft joints, also has a safety function. In the event of a higher torque than allowed, it disengages the connection and thus both the drive and the driven side can freely rotate independently of each other. After the torque returns to the appropriate value, the clutch re-starts and connects the shaft.
